Olas latest release Liarbird is now officially released.

Norways biggest newspaper Dagbladet, describes it as "dramatic, beautiful and riveting" and gives it 6/6 stars. (norwegian). Dagsavisen states "Kvernbergs triumph" and ranks it this years best norwegian jazz album.

Its finally here! After three intense days of recording at the beautiful Ocean Sound Recordings at Giske in June, countless hours of afterwork throughout the summer and finally mixing and mastering with the splendid mr Morten Stendahl at the wonderful Redroom Studios in Trondheim two weeks ago, LIARBIRD is ready to be released - album style!

Supporting the album, Concerts Norway has put together a comprehensive tour throughout Norway in September and October this fall. Check tour dates below.

Ola Kvernbergs LIARBIRD will kick next years season off on Jan 27 in Oslo @ Nasjonal Jazzscene, and during fall 2011 the Liarbird debut album will be released along with an extensive Scandinavian tour. We've wrapped up this years trio activities with a gig in Budapest last Friday, as part of Bugge Wesseltoft's New Jazzland Community. Along with a few norwegian shows this fall, we've spent quite a few days in rehearsal during summer and fall this year, preparing for a brand new album. In January 2011 we'll start recording in the unique Ocean Sound Recordings - a studio located on the rugged west coast of Norway, accompanied only by seagulls, monstrous waves and a superb sound engineer named Eyvinn Solberg. Here's a clip from Budapest, featuring Daniel Franck on the bass. We're playing "John" from our FOLK album.

Ola is this months artist at Victoria in Oslo in October, and will be performing with a variety of artists in 4 different constellations during - starting tomorrow:
